Steve freelanced as a journalist for many years, writing news, features, and articles. The work took him from double page spreads on theatre exercises for OM Yoga Magazine to interviews with ghost hunters for the Surrey Downs Magazine. He also wrote for the Hollywood News, Sardines Amateur Dramatics Magazine, and the Steampunk Journal. Quite the mixture, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Steve’s first novel, Revolution Island, is a futuristic thriller written with a light touch. Set 244 years in the future, the story follows Herbert Sanderson and his wife Andrea as they battle controlling politicians and aggressive outsiders on an island utopia. Full of thrills, friendship and humour it’s the perfect book to read over a weekend with copious amounts of tea and maybe one or two biscuits as well.

Steve has also written two children’s books aimed at 8-12 year olds. The first, The Boy and the Case of the Missing Toothbrush, tells the story of an alien schoolboy who, on a visit to Earth, accidentally get left behind. He ends up in an orphanage where he helps to solve a mystery surrounding the theft of several diamonds.

The second book is much dearer to Steve’s heart. Emily and the Battle of Otty Wood is written for his cousin’s daughter who was diagnosed with Batten Disease at a young age. In the story, Emily helps to defeat two business men who intend to bulldoze a local wood with the help of her spirit guide (a giant blue bear) and mother nature itself. All profits from the book go to the Batten Disease Family Association and the book is avaliable to buy now on Amazon.

Steve is currently working on two more adult novels as well as a sequel to The Boy and the Case of the Missing Toothbrush. Too many hours staring at a computer screen can be bad for the eyes, however, so he makes sure to take plenty of time to go for walks, play the guitar or to meet a friend down at the driving range. Steve is married to one beautiful wife, has three beautiful children, and a beautiful cat called Molly. He is originally from Yorkshire but now lives in Surrey.
